    1. India has won U-18 Asia Cup Hockey tournament by defeating the hosts Bangladesh in the Finals.

2. Patna HC struck down Bihar government's Liquor ban in Bihar, terming it as illegal Ultra Vires to constitution. Earlier Bihar assembly had unanimously passed the Bihar Excise Amendment Bill 2016 to enforce the ban on country made liquor from April 1.

3. Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh have the maximum number of villages that are ODF OPEN DEFECATION FREE according to the criteria of the Swachh Bahrat Mission. Mysuru scored agatin after it topped the list of clean cities for two consecutive years. Sikkim is the only State which has achieved the ODF status, and Kerala, Haryana, Gujrat and Maharashtra will soon achieve the ODF status. Gangtok in Sikkim was adjudged as the best Tourist Place in the country.  Sindhudurg District of Maharashtra as best swachh district while, Patan in Gujrat bagged the award for best swachh iconic place. Gujarat's World Heritage site Rani ka viv cleanest monument in the country.


4. Pak loses $ 7 Billion by avoiding India goods. Loss was substantial considering Pakistan's GDP was only about $ 270 Billion according to a study by the New Delhi based RIS Researchers and Information System for Developing countries .


5. China is set to build the worlds deepest and largest high speed railway station under a section of the Great Wall, as part of its preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Railway Station location at Badaling most visited section of Great Wall lies about 80km northwest of Beijing.


6.  Pak has finally buckled down, announces the postponement of SAARC summit which was to have been held  in Islamabad November 2016.
This comes after After Sri Lanka’s decision to pulls out of SAARC summit. Earlier SAARC members countries Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka too conveyed to Nepal that they too will not be able to attend the summit.


7. PM Modi, today delivered the inaugural address at INDOSAN – the India Sanitation Conference – in New Delhi. PM Modi emphasized that cleanliness is not something to be achieved by budget allocations. It is rather, something that should become a mass movement.


8.  Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India is organizing the second edition of ‘Advantage Health Care India 2016 (AHCI 2016)’, an International Summit on Medical Value Travel with the aim of ‘Promoting Healthcare Services Exports from India’, scheduled from 3 - 5 October, 2016 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida.

Main Objective of this international summit is to promote India as a Premier Global Healthcare Destination and to enable streamlined medical services exports from India. This underlying objective is a unique conglomeration of 5Ts, namely
·         Tradition
·         Technology
·         Tourism
·         Talent
·         Trade
-->ACHI 2016 being organized in India for promoting services exports from India, and will bring together stakeholders from 67 countries, first such initiative in the Indian Subcontinent.


    9. Indonesia volcano erupted at Mount Barujari in Lombok island. The volcano, also known as the“Child of Rinjani” because it sits within the Mount Rinjani caldera.     

          Indonesia lies along the volatile “Ring of Fire” and is home to 130 active volcanoes.

    10. Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has launched Progress Panchayat in Mewat district of Haryana. It aims to reach out to the minority communities and publicize the various welfare measures taken by the NDA government for their betterment.


    11. Modi unveiled the trophy for BRICS U-17 football tournament, scheduled to be held in Goa from Oct 5 to 15. The PM reiterated the Nation’s commitment to ‘sports for all’
